Stenhousemuir AFC won the Linlithgow Thistle Charity Tournament 2012 on 28th July at Linlithgow Leisure Centre.

Despite periods of torrential rain, the football spectacle was never diluted.  Fantastic skills were on display by all teams throughout the Tournament  that saw a mix of amateur and U19 SFL clubs, with no gulf in class ever evident across the intense 30 minute games.

Having won their respective Leagues, Dunipace Thistle played Stenhousemuir AFC in the final, following entertaining Semi-Finals.  After an end to end half hour, with no score, Stenhousemuir came out victors on penalties.

Coming so close over the last two Tournaments, it proved third time lucky for Stenhousemuir.  Along with the Tournament trophy, Beatsons Institute of Cancer Research receive a cheque for £310 for the efforts of the victors.

Top Goal Scorer (with 5 goals) award went to Camelon Albion’s Callum Heeps; and Player of the Tournament award went to Zak Nicoletti of Dunipace Thistle.

Linlithgow Thistle wish to thank all partipating clubs and players, officials (Stuart Simpson, Paul Taylor, Kenny Newlands and John Kelly) and to the supporters that braved the weather to create a special atmosphere.
