The Thistle suffered a disappointing defeat at The Jewel, despite periods of impressive possession.
With the shock and sudden news on Friday night that head coach, Callum Nimmo had tendered his resignation, the squad opened the match in fine form. Heeps dispatched a cracking effort beyond the keeper in the opening ten minutes. The home side equalised shortly thereafter but Orr volleyed home on the half hour mark to reinstate The Thistle’s league.
The second half again saw some flashes of good interplay and some goal opportunities. It was just not to be. Four moments of concentration loss saw the home side record a scoreline that unjustly flatters their performance.
It has been a tough period for The Thistle, added further with Scott Greig’s injury last week against Bathgate Thistle ruling him out for four weeks, along with Captain Neil Porteous and Kevin Morrison having to come off in this game with knocks.
