Thistle turned in a competent performance against Stirling & District AFA side, Beechwood Albion.
It took until the 23rd minute before the Linlithgow team began to show any signs of dominance and, at that point, were a goal behind. Albion capitalised on a mixture of poor goalkeeping and defending to gain the advantage on 12 minutes.
On 28th minute, Thistle climbed level when a wicked slice from a Heeps corner spun into the Albion net.
On 41st minute, Maxwell staked his claim for Goal of the Season with a spectacular strike from 23 yards that had the ball lodged into the top left hand corner of the net.
Into the second half, Thistle increased their lead through a splendid brace from Orr.
It could have been a more convincing victory with Mitchell striking the post twice and other chances going abegging. However, this session was purely to provide minutes for players on the fringe of the starting eleven, recovering from injury or for trying new positions ahead of suspensions. There were signs of Christnmas fatigue across the park but it was a good effort by all.
Most pleasing was the input by Jock Wilson who played for the first time in months. His performance was superb.
